The Life We Designed: Free from the 9-to-5,
Filled with Purpose and Adventure

About Us

We’re a American-French couple who became financially independent at age 35-36 and decided to rewrite the script. In 2018, we quit our 9-to-5 jobs, gave away most of our belongings, and left San Francisco to embrace a new chapter: full-time slow travel.

Our Journey

Since taking that leap in 2018, we travel more than 100,000 miles, explored nearly 50 destinations across 20 countries on 4 continents—all without rushing (check all the place with visited). We’re not trying to collect passport stamps (though we like them). We travel intentionally, spending weeks or months in each place to truly experience life there.

What We’re All About

Nomad Numbers is our space to share the real story behind full-time slow travel and financial independence. We combine personal insights with transparent data to show how designing an intentional life. free from the 9-to-5, can be both fulfilling and financially sustainable. Whether you dream of traveling the world or simply want more freedom in your everyday life, our goal is to help you rethink what’s possible and give you the tools to make it happen.

Breaking the “Travel Is Expensive” Myth

In our first year on the road, we spent just $28,628 – less than half of what we used to spend living in California. That moment changed everything. We realized that not only was full-time travel possible, it could actually cost less than staying home.

We’ve been documenting our costs ever since, offering detailed cost-of-living reports, detailed travel rewards earning & spend, and more to help others see how affordable this lifestyle can be.

Why We Share

Whether you’re curious about financial independence, cost of living abroad, or the logistics of slow travel, we’re here to show you how we made it work. But we also know everyone’s journey looks different. That’s why we’ve interviewed other nomads and couples who’ve found their own paths to freedom.

Why We Don’t Share Our Full Identity

You might notice we don’t share our full names or faces on this blog—and that’s intentional. For us, anonymity isn’t about hiding; it’s about staying focused on what really matters: the ideas, the numbers, and the lifestyle. We want our story to feel relatable and replicable, not aspirational. By keeping our identity in the background, we hope the spotlight stays on the content and the possibilities it opens up for you. It also allows us to maintain a bit of privacy as we explore the world.

Are you still waiting to embrace a life you truly love?

We've conducted interviews with numerous couples and individuals who made the choice to craft a life on their own terms. If you're still skeptical about the feasibility of designing a life you love, delve into their stories!
